CVD tools have high blade strength and impact resistance close to that of single crystal diamond tools, and can be used to make tools of various sizes. CVD tools have good wear resistance and are more than 100 times more durable than cemented carbide. The blade can be finely ground and polished to less than Ra0.05 µm using the grinding method of single crystal diamond tools, and the workpiece surface can reach a mirror finish. The thermal conductivity is 5 to 10 W/cm•K, which can dissipate the heat of the tool tip in time during dry cutting, reduce damage to the workpiece surface, lower the tool operating temperature, and increase tool life.
